Facial care for combination skin
Caring for typical combination skin often feels like a balancing act: while the oily areas need a clarifying, pore-refining care, the "normal" skin areas of combination skin benefit from a light moisturizer that provides sufficient skin protection. If the skin on the cheeks is very dry and flaky, a rich care product would even be advisable. Your beauty routine is therefore a bit more complicated: with your combination skin, it has to fulfill two skin needs at once. We’ll show you how this can work and which face creams for combination skin you should use. Find the right combination skin care in Natural Beauty quality with us!
In typical combination skin, you will see (mainly in the T-zone)
Do these combination skin characteristics apply to you? Then we will give you valuable tips for the right care for your skin type below.
What is the difference between impure skin and combination skin?
Impure skin and combination skin are often confused with each other, but they are two different skin types with specific characteristics and needs. Here is a clear distinction that helps you understand the differences and better recognize your own skin type.
Facial cleansing for combination skin: thorough, yet gentle
Finding the ideal cleansing products and routines is not that easy. To avoid cleansing your skin too harshly or aggressively, we recommend a thorough yet gentle cleansing both morning and evening. The care goal here is clearly a refined and mattified complexion.
A cleansing product that thoroughly removes dirt and makeup while simultaneously providing valuable moisture is an absolute must-have for this skin type.
As a second step, a clarifying, mildly degreasing toner is recommended, which you ideally apply only to the oily T-zone. It can help your skin better absorb the valuable ingredients of subsequent skincare products and also effectively removes the last dirt particles and makeup residues that could lead to new blemishes.
The right face cream: balancing combination skin
A strongly mattifying cream is not suitable for the entire face if you have combination skin. Often, they are even disadvantageous for the dry areas of the skin because these then receive too little moisture. Ideal are water-in-oil emulsions that absorb quickly and do not leave a greasy film on your skin.
A good strategy for combination skin is the targeted treatment of the respective problem areas:
1. A mattifying, clarifying care with ingredients like natural salicylic acid against pimples
2. Richer care products for the dry areas of the face
The solution: A balancing day cream for combination skin
Your day cream for combination skin should therefore fulfill two functions: clarify and protect. To meet this important dual requirement, it especially needs a delicate touch and high-quality skincare products with finely balanced, lightweight formulas. The motto here is: lots of moisture (in the form of a moisturizer for combination skin) and little fat.
Which serum is good for combination skin?
For combination skin, a serum can be a very good addition. The Pure Beauty Serum provides moisture, which supports the skin's natural regeneration. Impurities are gently reduced. You can also apply it only spot-wise on blemished areas and use a moisturizing serum like the Hydro Refresh Serum, or the Barrier Balance Serum.
Don't forget daily sun protection!
For your daily sun protection, if you have combination skin, you should look for light textures that absorb quickly and do not feel greasy. Ideal are Anti-UV fluids with SPF 30 or SPF 50. They provide valuable moisture and are also excellent as a makeup base. Natural sun fluids specially for the face and décolleté also protect against UVA and UVB rays and leave a pleasant skin feeling.
